Antioch, California

Antioch, Gateway to the Delta, is located on the banks of the San Joaquin River near the entrance to the agriculturally rich San Joaquin Delta. It is located off of Highway 4 in Contra Costa County with convenient access to the entire array of Northern California recreation.  Popular destinations include the Monterey Peninsula, Napa Valley Wineries, Northern California coast, Lake Tahoe, Sierra-Nevada ski slopes, Yosemite National Park, the Gold Country, and the San Joaquin Delta.

The City of Antioch was incorporated in 1872 and currently encompasses an area of approximately 28 square miles. With a population nearing 90,000, Antioch has become the heart of Eastern Contra Costa County, offering a variety of employment, shopping and vast recreational activities. The availability of quality and affordable housing is unsurpassed in the Bay Area. Balanced development includes shopping centers, a golf course, several fine parks, including the family-oriented Prewett Water Park and new schools. Antioch is one of the last cities in Contra Costa County still building new schools.

The City features access to the Delta through its Marina and boat ramp. An art gallery, unique shops, restaurants and several festivals, including the Rivertown Jamboree and the Delta Blues Festival, enhance the riverfront downtown area.
